DESIGN THEORY BOOKLET

This book is a collection of models which visualize design theory concepts and principles introduced in Hugh Dubberly’s Information Design Theory course, part of the Information Design and Visualization graduate program at Northeastern University.

Each model is a response to a reading which cover concepts from semiotics to the isomorphic nature of design and learning. They are ordered according to how they were assigned and curated by Hugh Dubberly, so the models and ideas build on one another and occasionally previous models and/or authors are referenced. A full list of the readings can be found at the end of this book.
